Do you want to brush up on your French skills and get talking to native speakers while soaking up the Swissfrench culture? Do you like walking through some of the most beautiful landscapes Switzerland has to offer?
We offer week-long combined language and walking holidays in the village of Château-d’Oex, between Montreux and Gstaad in the Swiss Alps.

Courses in Château d’Oex

During the holiday in Chateau d’Oex - this small village is known for its international balloon festival and the production of its AOC cheese - you will be able to submerge yourself in French culture.
Whether you chat with the locals, order in restaurants or listen to the cheesemakers, all are opportunities to learn new things in a relaxed atmosphere.
In the mornings we offer language training in small groups with the emphasis on boosting confidence and improving your conversational skills. We read and discuss newspaper articles, repeat grammar, play games and do oral and written exercises.
After lunch, accompanied by locals, we put on our walking boots and explore the beautiful surroundings on trails of the Pays d’Enhaut.
You will either lodge in a B&B or in a small pension with friendly hosts, who will spend time chatting with you.

Many artists and sportsmen have chosen "Pays-d’Enhaut as their home to indulge their passions. Bertrand Piccard with Brian Jones began their non-stop balloon flight around the world here, Balthus painted here in his latter years of his life. The sunny mountains cut through into the deep valleys. Above 1000 metres farmers produce their famous "L’Etivaz AOC" cheese on wood fires.

For hiking good walking boots and rain jackets are important. I suggest walking poles especially for those without much experience of mountain hiking.
Each day we climb up 300 to 400 metres, for some walks, less.
